Air India has become the first Indian Carrier to acquire the World’s most advanced and light aircraft AIRBUS 350-900, A National carrier earlier and now owned and operated by TATA Air India the acquisition which was done in 2022, The Journey of Air India started way back in 1932 when The first Airmail flight took off from Karachi to Bombay by the Father of Indian Aviation J.R.D Tata.

Since then the journey started and various milestones achieved and In 2022 Homecoming of Air India to its original Founder where it belongs, Since 2022 till now the Air India is undergoing the transition and on a way to become a market leader.

Recently the Air India has upgraded its fleet and orders some aircrafts to compete with the market leaders in aviation, The introduction of AIRBUS 350 the most advanced aircraft by far now has been added to its fleet where 06 Airbus 350 were recently added of total order of 20.

The Tata owned Air India has recently signed a deal for new aircrafts to expand its global network and leasing some from the other carrier so that the old fleet can be retired and the one can go under renovation.

AIRBUS 350-900 Orders by Air India

The Tata owned airlines Air India has recently placed an order in 2023 for AIRBUS 350-900 series a total of 20 AIRBUS 350-900 aircrafts has been ordered which will be delivered by the end of 2027, At present in July 2024 only 06 Airbus 350 has been delivered which inducted into the fleet.

The Six 350 so far delivered has already registered with new series (VT-JRA, JRB, JRE, JRH, JRF and JRI) started flying and already completed the minimum flying hours requirements by the DGCA.

Air India AIRBUS 350 Configuration

The Airbus 350 which Air India has ordered and already received has a total seating capacity of 316 seats, the new 350 has primarily inducted three classes Business class, Premium Economy Class and Economy Class.

Business Class – 28 Seats
Premium Economy Class – 24 Seats
Economy Class – 264 Seats

Air Indian Plans to Fly AIRBUS 350

As per the latest release as the new six 350 aircraft’s has already completed the minimum hours of flying requirement mandated by the DGCA, The Airbus 350 started operation in Gulf to Dubai and as per latest news soon from August Airbus 350 will start flying to USA the major reason is the old fleet which is operational at present is Boeing 777-200 and 300 ER need upgraded as most of the inflight entertainment doesn’t work.

Air India is also planning to start new sectors in the USA.
